Nail strengthening FAQs
Strengthening vs extensions vs hardener polish, which do I need?
Strengthening adds a thin reinforcement gel layer to your natural nail, holds 3 to 4 weeks, no length added. Extensions add length and shape using gel or polygel, hold 4 to 5 weeks until infill. Hardener polish from the drugstore brushes on like nail polish but is much weaker than salon-grade reinforcement gel. Choose strengthening if your natural nails are weak or peeling but you don't want length.
How does it actually look on my nails?
The base reinforcement is transparent, your nails look natural but feel structurally stronger. If you want color on top, the strengthening + shellac package adds a colored shellac layer on the same visit (50 GEL).
How often do I need to come back?
Every 2 to 3 weeks for refresh, your natural nails grow and a visible regrowth gap appears at the cuticle. The gap is filled (infill) without removing the existing layer, so the procedure is faster than the first visit.
Is strengthening safe during pregnancy?
Generally yes. Reinforcement gel is chemically more neutral than acrylic. We recommend consulting your physician for personal guidance. If you prefer to avoid any chemistry, our classic manicure with optional regular polish is the most pregnancy-friendly option.
Will strengthening damage my natural nails?
No, when removed properly at the salon. The reinforcement gel sits on top of the natural nail, the soak-off removal in 10 to 15 minutes leaves the natural nail intact. Damage happens when clients pick off the layer at home, which tears the surface of the natural nail.
